Amino picks ex-Nokia man as product marketing SVP
UK set-top box maker Amino Communications has appointed Joe Coles as its new Senior Vice President of product management and marketing, as the company seeks to build a more targeted product range on the back of a profitable 2012.
Coles joins Amino’s executive team with responsibility for developing and driving the company’s Aminet and Live range of IPTV/OTT set-top boxes. Prior to Amino, he held various roles in product management at Finnish mobile maker Nokia, and ran his own consultancy company.
Amino Chief Executive Donald McGarva said: “Joe brings an enormous amount of experience having shaped the strategic direction of product management and marketing for a number of global companies. We’re sure he’ll make a significant contribution to the development of our products to better serve our expanding customer base.”
While Amino posted an operating profit of GB£ 2.8mn (US$ 4.3mn) for 2012 on revenues of GB£ 41.7mn, the company has been going through a number of transitions recently, revealing plans last December to shut its Swedish office as part of a drive to cut costs, and affirming in its latest results update that it plans to target high margin growth in 2013, using a more simplified supply chain and a more targeted product range.
